Wall hanging by Gothenburg-based textile artist Emma Holmgren, currently featured in the exhibition Krusningar (Ripples) at our gallery, FLD Gallery. The textile hanging is hand-woven in plain weave using hand-dyed yarn and the ikat technique.
Holmgren’s work merges organic qualities with unique textile imagery in energetic color palettes. She has held several exhibitions and gained international recognition for her work. In 2022, she was the recipient of the Fine Little Day Art Award.

About the artist
The foundation of Emma Holmgren’s artistry lies in textile materials and traditional craft techniques. In her work, she explores hand-weaving and various dyeing techniques in an experimental manner, with her pieces ranging from figurative to abstract.
