Freja Erixån

The work of Freja is the perfect match with Fine Little Day. We love her winding and unpredictable, distinct visual naivistic language. Freja Erixån have designed a new kids collection for us. Read an interview with Freja and discover the collection below.

Freja Erixån (b. 1990) is a visual artist, cartoonist and illustrator based in Malmö, Sweden. She took her Master Degree in Design at HDK School of Design and Crafts in 2018. Her work has been curated at galleries such as Galleri Thomassen in Gothenburg  (2021), Stenungsunds konsthall (2020) and at Sandvikens konsthall (2016).

Her debut series book ”Över min döda kropp” (”Over my dead body”) was published in February 2019 and the sequel “Bakom begäret bredvid behaget” (“Behind the desire next to the pleasure”) in November 2021, both at the publisher Kartago Förlag.

Erixån mostly draws and paints with oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic on paper. Elisabeth asked Freja some questions about her artistic work.

Did you always know that you wanted to be an artist professionally? Do you come from a family of artists?
My mother and my older sister are both artists, and I always knew I wanted to work as an author and with something in the artistic field even though I'm very grateful and surprised every day that it's actually possible.
